The rug is the gold standard of handmade rug production, nearly a lost art now, but once the envy of nations. The pile is wool, incredibly thick and soft, and finished with hand-carved sculpturing of design elements for dramatic effect.

A finely woven 8x10 hand knotted rug would normally take two artisans 6-8 months to weave. Washing and finishing will take a few weeks after the weaving is complete. Smaller rugs take less time and larger rugs more time.
Depending on the size of the rug, and for the protection of the rug, we may use a custom cardboard box for shipping. The rug will be folded into the box and when unfolded in your room, may show some creases. These will completely dissipate over a short time. The “weft” (foundation) of the rug is 100% cotton and will lie completely flat after the rug “relaxes.”
